Menu Plan Monday and so Proud of Those Who Wear the Militatry Uniform

Today, I woke up feeling glum and blue and guilty for sleeping in being a slug. I seen my boys and darling husband off to school and work, then went back to bed for 3 hours. Yes, I needed the sleep but do not feel rested, so I am going to change that! Every week day, I am going to get out of bed and stay out of bed at 6am when I get the boys up for school. Clutter in my home is literally choking, so I have been working on clearing it out of the living room first. I will attack each room one by one. I also woke up to the wonderful news that Bin Laden is FINALLY dead. I am so proud of each and every American who wore and wears the military uniform. I am also honored to have served right along side them for eight years. Although, it makes me frightened at what retaliation the Americans overseas will be faced with in the near future. http://youtu.be/Oq0t7ZUwzGA So the plan for this week is very simple, as it is going to be a very busy week. The Thought for a lazy afternoon

I have always, from the time we decided to have children wanted to home school. DH mentioned it today and I was happy, so this may be a new situation that I need to prepare for. I have a 1st grader and a 5th grader, both of them struggle in school, they are both starting to get frustrated. They both love to learn and it just kills me that their spirits are getting smothered where they are right now. So I am asking for thoughts and prayers for my family while we ponder this ever important choice.

Menu Monday

I need to get my act together on many different levels and planning is one of them. I have so much sloppy Joe meat left from the party yesterday, this week's challenge will be to make new different tastes with the same ole meat mixture. Monday will be nachos Tuesday Hot dogs(also left over from the party) Wednesday Chili Thursday lasanga with garlic bread made of hamburger buns. Friday a break from the leftovers, HM pizza S&S not sure what the weekend has in store for us. We have to go to a memorial service on Sunday that is about an hour away, so we may stay at my parents or in a hotel. For more yummy meal ideas, pop over to orgjunkie.com

My take on a fellow bloggers recipe

I have been following Laura's site at Heavenly Homemakers for a while now. I love her simple, yummy sounding recipes she posts! She is a true inspiration to me. Today my boys had a half day of school and they were not going to eat lunch at school. I wanted to make a fun lunch for them and remembered having a few hot dogs in the freezer and just got a corn bread Jiffy mix. So I did corndog muffins and they were a huge hit with all three of my boys, including DH! He even asked me to pack some in his lunch box!! YAY! Laura thank you for a great recipe!

Christmas 2011 prep

So I did a lot of things right this year but a lot incorrectly. One of the biggest things I did wrong was the lack of prep work I could have spaced out all year long. That is where I am going with this post. I am going to try to work on one craft idea a month in preparation for gift giving for Christmas 2011. January's project is going to be oven mitts. As I need them and everyone uses them. So I will post a few photos after the boys and I have a few hours on the sewing machine. I also should say that a constant goal of mine is to increase my boys sewing talent. The two ideas go hand in hand. If you have any ideas that a mother of two boys with normal gift giving list could use please post in the comments.

WHERE Is calgone when you need it??

What a $hitty day! I even was greeted by Aunt F. today :sniff welll, I have a wedding to go to this weekend, I know that my Gram will HAVE to mention that I have gained 5500+ pounds, and HATE being at the wedding that we have travel 450+ miles to escort her there the 20 minutes it is away from her home. Our mortgage company screwed up our escrow AGAIN. so there is NO money to pay the $700 past due taxes from 2009. I did kick Joel and DH out of the house for a few hours, and am doing what brings me comfort and true peace, dancing and farting around with Noah and cooking a nice dinner, including brownies for dessert, and have two loaves of bread rising. Listening to good ole' classic rock blasting. try to fight off the weeps Cleaning the pit that our home has transformed into over the past few days. What do you do to make yourself feel better, when in a blue mood?
